Project Overview

Project Status: On Tuesday, February 22nd, 2019 the Board of Trustees voted to remove the Stable Acres project from the list with a 3/2 vote in favor of this decision. The project area will now be handed over to the Whitley County Health Department for decisions moving forward. Any questions regarding septic system compliance or Department of health contamination complaints will need to be directed to Scott Wagner 260-248-3121 or swagner@whitleygov.com.

Project Summary: The Stable Acres neighborhood is in unincorporated Whitley County (Jefferson Township) along the south side of State Road 14 (SR 14) approximately five miles southeast of Columbia City and ten miles east of South Whitley. The nearest sewage treatment provider is the private utility of Aqua Indiana, who has exiting sewage collection infrastructure at the Micropulse facility located approximately two miles east of the intersection of SR 14 and County Road 400 East coupled with a force main connection to the existing sewer facilities in form of the Micropulse facility (owned by Aqua Indiana). Aqua Indiana has expressed a willingness to provide treatment services for this project.
